In honor of BC Day, we’re honoring local businesses and brands that are doing great things in the health and wellness space! Buying local is a great way to support your community financially, plus it helps cut down carbon emissions that would have been used to ship those goods from somewhere further away. We hope you love them as much as we do!
Brands we ????
Naked Coconuts has the super tasty and nutrient dense coconut oil. This company is super transparent about how they source their coconuts and they only use ethical practices.
Nelson Naturals crafts chemical free toothpastes so you can avoid fluoride while still maintaining oral health.
Brush Naked Finally there are full compostable tooth brushes, thanks to Brush Naked. Stop contributing to landfills by throwing out plastic toothbrushes and start using compostable ones!
Tempea is a Vancouver company that makes raw, organic tempeh! It’s the best and freshest we’ve ever tasted, and they do delivery.
Stores we ????
The Soap Dispensary allows its customers to refill soaps/personal care products without having to deal with plastic disposable wrappers/packaging. Aside from keeping the planet clean, the Soap Dispensary also carries natural, vegan, organic and fair trade products! Did we mention how cute their shop is? You feel good about the products you purchase, not to mention they look chic and smell amazing, too!
Picture a grocery store that emits zero waste. Zip. Nada. Luckily you won’t have to wait 20 years for something bada$$ like that to be available, because the future is now, baby!! The Zero Waste store will be opening up a permanent market in Vancouver this fall. So how does it work? You bring in your own reusable bags, jars, bottles or whatever else you like to put your products in, and you’re charged for organic products by weight. There is no packaging involved. The market used to be a pop up store, but due to overwhelming success, they’re now taking that next step in giving Vancouverites a shopping option that will be the cleanest in Canada.
Two words: pie bliss. Aphrodite’s has AH-mazing local organic pies and brunch options. Like they’re goddess bowl with whipped blueberry tofu and coconut chia pudding (if you’re not drooling right now I don’t believe you) and they’re veggie benny with roasted portobello and golden ears feta! They have tons of vegan and gluten free options and please try our pick: Blackberry apple pie. Or try everything. Everything is the only way to avoid FOMO right? 😉
Beyond Bread is an organic artisan bakery on West 4th in Vancouver. With vegan and gluten-free options, this is a natural go to for us at Pranin Organic!
Did we miss any of your local faves?
Happy BC Day everyone!
