Blackberry coconut kefir smoothie

Kefir is a great source of good bacteria and can drastically improve your overall gut health. So, why not put it in a delicious smoothie?! If you’ve read our Stress and gut health article you know about the close relationship between gut health and mental, cognitive health. And it goes both ways, mental health can affect your gut health. Stress actually heavily impacts your gut health because the body’s central nervous system and the gut are very closely connected. So take care of your tummy and brain, by eating more live, probiotic foods with goo bacteria in them.

Ingredients
Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup blackberries fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup blueberries fresh or frozen
  • 2 cups vanilla almond or coconut milk
  • 2 cubes of ice omit ice if using frozen berries
  • 2 tablespoons Hemp Seeds
  • 1 tablespoon coconut kefir (I use the cultured coconut - optional)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or sweetener of choice (optional)
Optional Nutritional Boosters
  • 1 packet Raw Cacao Smoothie Booster
Optional toppings
  • 1 handful fresh berries
  • 1 teaspoon dairy free yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Cacao Nibs

Instructions
  1. Add all main ingredients to a high speed blender. Blend until smooth. Add optional nutritional booster, blend.
  2. Pour into your fave glass, add optional toppings & enjoy the taste and health benefits!
