Superfood Sangria
Ingredients
  • 2 green tea bags
  • 2inches Fresh Ginger
  • 1cup frozen berries or diced frozen pineapple
  • 1 large, red diced apple
  • 1cup fresh orange juice (or grapefruit juice)Use un-pasteurized, fresh squeezed, or fresh pressed juice. Not from concentrate
  • 3cups hot water
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks(optional)
  • 750ml your favorite kombucha/water kefir/sparkling water
Instructions
  1. In a large heat proof bowl steep the green tea bags, fresh ginger and cinnamon sticks in hot water for 5 minutes
  2. Remove the tea bags (leaving the ginger and cinnamon sticks)
  3. Add fresh orange or grapefruit juice, and test the temperature (should be warm, not hot)
  4. Transfer the tea/juice into a large jug (will need to fit up to 2L of fluid)
  5. Add the frozen berries or pineapple, and diced apple
  6. Let the Sangria mixture ‘steep’ over several hours in the fridge, or even overnight
  7. Add in sparkling beverage of choice (750mls) and PureFood C right before serving, mix thoroughly
  8. Garnish each glass with some of the fruit and/or cinnamon sticks from the jug
  9. Enjoy! Note: You may notice a slight green residue on the surface of your Sangria. That’s the beauty of superfoods, like Moringa leaf, used in PureFood C. Embrace the green!
