Cacao Crock Pot Granola

This is a low maintenance twist on the old oven favorite. The warm chocolaty taste of our homemade granola will brighten up your chilly, dark mornings. Use it as a smoothie topper, a cereal with our Raw Cacao Hemp Milk, throw it in your homemade granola bars or eat it on it’s own. You can’t go wrong with a toasty bowl of fall flavours on a crisp day!

  • 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 2 cups crisp brown rice cereal
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 3-4 tablespoons nut or hemp milk
  • 1/4 cup honey or liquid sweetener of choice
  • 1/2 cup of mix-ins of choice IE hemp seeds, almonds, raisins, dried cranberries, cacao nibs
  • 1-2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 1-2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon to taste
  • Coconut oil to grease slow cooker

Instructions
  1. Lightly grease inside of slow cooker with coconut oil. Line rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine oats, rice cereal, and shredded coconut.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together honey, vanilla extract, and non-dairy milk.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture into the dry mixture, and mix until dry ingredients are completely coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to slow cooker. Place lid on slow cooker slightly askew so that air can circulate. This will make sure the granola is crispy, not soggy.
  6. Cook granola on high for 2 - 2 1/2 hours or until crunchy, stirring gently every 30-45 mins or so.
  7. Once cooked to desired crispiness, transfer to cookie sheet, and add in mix-ins of choice.
  8. Store in an air-tight container to enjoy throughout the week.
